Born on 1st June 1953, at Vendodu village, Gudur in Nellore district, is M.Sc., Ph.D in Zoology from Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati. He has specialized on Neuroscience, Environmental Toxicology, Pharmacology, and Animal Ecology, and brings to bear on the office of Vice-Chancellor his rich and varied experience in teaching, research and development for over 32 years. A University Gold Medalist in M.Sc., (Zoology-Neurophysiology) in 1975, Prof. Reddy was awarded Ph.D in
Radiation Biology from S.V. University, Tirupati, in 1979. Never leaving the ennobled path of learning, Prof. Reddy is currently pursuing D.Sc (Zoology) from Berhampur University.
On his being appointed the Vice-Chancellor, Vikrama Simhapuri University, he has been the Professor in the Department of Zoology, Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati. He held several important positions in Sri Venkateswara University, Tirupati: Dean, Resource Mobilization; Coordinator, DRDO Research Programmes; Chancellor’s Nominee, Osmania University for selections of teaching positions; Member, DST-PURSE, Programme Implementation Committee; Chairman, Research Standards Improvement Committee. Besides, he has occupied many choicest posts in S.V. University and other Universities: Coordinator, UGC-COSIST and DST-FIST Programmes; Advisory Member, UGC-DRS. Dept. of Zoology, S.V.
